Having the next shoe size on hand has been such a game changer. Same with the clothes for next season. Especially winter! It never fails, it’s been snowing unexpectedly in the fall and we need winter gear, but it’s not like we can run to the store to get what we need.
Having a drawer to put outgrown clothing in is so handy too. I put it in the drawer then when the drawer is full I take the pile to storage for hand me downs or the consignment shop.
Keeping a limited number of items in their drawers is something new this summer and it’s made a massive improvement to being able to handle the laundry 🙌🏼🙌🏼 I also feel less overwhelmed knowing I only have to replace four sets for each kid in the next size. They do have a few extra pieces they’ve gotten as gifts, but the ~4 number is really working for us.
We used to do all the laundry weekly, but now I run the combo machine about every other day. So much easier to stay caught up! If you’re curious about the combo washer and dryer I have a full review up on the blog — it’s been life changing!
What systems do you have to keep your family on track? Before kids, I never anticipated the amount of work it would take to manage their clothing/shoes 🤯🤯
