I’m following along with a producer on insta who has introduced more species to her pasture.
It’s been exciting to see and inspiring.
I’ve been thinking about how we could introduce beautiful flowers and find other plants that would provide nutrition to the cows + the environment.
I’m checking pastures right now and this thought hit me like a ton of bricks.
We’re grazing native grass.
This land is how God made it.
It’s never been broken up, cultivated or planted.
There is an array of plants growing out here!
Got caught up in the idea that we could change something that didn’t need changing for a minute, but now I’m back. Appreciating the gift we’ve been given.
I love the community here, the ideas, and the stories. I love how much we have in common and yet we’re all so different. I love how we can gather tidbits to bring home and be proud of how we’re doing it too.
Flowers are even more special when they’re picked on your land, right?
