OH THAT'S CHELSEY

Why I don’t hope my kids will return to the farm.

I know what you’re thinking, “there’s no way you don’t hope & pray your kids come back to the business!”

I really don’t.

In order to make it here, I think it takes a burning desire that will fuel them through the hard times.

This place has been here since my family homesteaded it in 1893. I’m the 6th generation to care for this land. I love this place like a family member and I want someone here that’s going to respect what’s been built. Someone that wants to be here more than anywhere else.

The place Kyle and I started last year — same feelings. We’ve poured our souls into building something from nothing. It’s special and it deserves to live on at the hands of someone that is going to care for it.

I hope and pray my kids learn responsibility, self-sufficiency, resilience and a love for learning. Where they take those skills is up to them.

They’ll have a place, to earn, here if they’d like. If they’d like something else I’ll be just as happy for them.

Us making room to pass it on to the next generation doesn’t mean it’s given or it’s expected. It means it’s possible.
